Frequently Asked Questions

Q

What is graphic design?

A

Graphic Design is the art of transforming a linguistic message into a graphic manifestation with the intention of communicating specific information to a group of people.

Q

I've never worked with a graphic design agency, what's the process?

A

Generally, a graphic designer will work with you to define a problem, determine the objectives, and – through creativity, innovation, and lateral thinking – create visual elements to convey your message to your audience.

Q

What is my involvement in the process, what do you need from me?

A

At the start of the project, we will go through our Creative Brief process with you in which we ask a series of questions and engage in some creative exercises that are designed to gather all the information we need to get your project rolling.

Q

My nephew has photoshop, what does your agency do that he can't?

A

Homemade is good for cookies, not for business. People can tell the difference. Sure, you may be able to get something that might LOOK okay, but is it serving its purpose and communicating the message properly?

If you were building a house, your nephew could set up some candles and flashlights in the rooms, but you’d probably want to call an electrician to wire in lighting. For the most part, you should leave things to the professionals that are capable of handling the task.

Q

Ok, so maybe my nephew isn't up for the job, but what about one of those crowdsourcing or subscription design services?

A

Listen, graphic design is an art. There are a lot of talented people out there who can create good work. We are one of them. A lot of freelancers and cheaper graphic design services can execute a design, but can’t see the overall painting past the brush strokes.

That’s the difference between us and them. We think of the big picture. We determine who you are, who you are trying to reach, and what you are trying to tell them, and what your desired outcome is. Then we craft and execute a plan to reach that goal.

At this point in time if that big-picture thinking isn’t important to you, you can PROBABLY get away with using one of those aforementioned services. It may just work for where you are right now. BUT, if you realize good design can elevate your company to the next level and see it as an investment in yourself, then you owe it to yourself to at least give us a call.

Q

Can we use our own printer / photographer / copywriter?

A

Absolutely. While we offer a wide array of services through our Summit Collective partners for those that need it, we are more than happy to work jointly with you and your associates to provide the best possible service.

Q

How much do you charge?

A

Pricing varies by project and scope of work. We’ve done branding projects from $000-$0000, website projects from $0000-$0000, one of flyer designs as low as $000 and multi-page catalog build outs as much as $0000.
Each project is unique and has its own requirements. Book a call to talk about your project and get a quote.

Q

Do you guys work on spec?

A

To be perfectly blunt, no. We are professionals that are very good at what we do and believe we should be compensated as such.

That said, we also believe in giving back to those who are giving back. We offer a pro-bono program to help in-need organizations get the high-caliber graphic design they need to accomplish their initiatives.

Q

How do I check on the progress of my project?

A

We pride ourselves on the open line of communication we keep with our clients throughout the entire process. At the start of each project, you will receive an estimate on how long the project will take. We will keep in direct contact with you along the way to keep you updated on the status of your project.

Q

What if I'm not satisfied with the work?

A

Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. If you aren’t happy, we aren’t happy. We will work with you to make it right.

Q

How will I receive my design project once it is finished?

A

Depending on the type of project, there are a few different ways you may receive your finished work.

For logo and branding projects and digital assets, you will receive a link to download your completed files.

For websites, depending on the job details, you will either receive log in access to the site on our server or it will be housed and accessible on your server.

For print items, depending on the job details, you will either receive a link to download the completed files or we will send them directly to the printer.

Q

Is any artwork or files our property once paid for?

A

Once the job is completed and paid in full, the client inherits ownership of the work. Aside from final assets, we will even hand over any build files and resources you may want as well.
